An athlete membership is $82 dollars for the following year. This will allow your swimmers to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned competitions as well as provide additional insurance in the event of an emergency. Membership also includes a subscription to SPLASH magazine, which is always fun to look through, and has some insightful material for budding and experienced swimmers.

The two USAS meets we have coming up are 10/5-10/6 at Bishop State in Mobile and 10/18-10/20 in Auburn. You are not required to swim all 2-3 days if you are unable to. We will most likely not be in attendance at Auburn on Friday evening, but Saturday and Sunday is encouraged. I think most of our swimmers should attend these meets, with the exception of a select few. If your child is fairly new to the sport, I recommend starting off swimming at the two Gulf Shores meets we have later this year. If you aren't sure, please ask!

To RSVP, please visit our website www.obstmakos.swimtopia.com and click on the "Meet & Events" tab. To commit to a meet, simply RSVP with any applicable notes and I will enter your swimmer(s) in the specified competition. I'll also inform you of your swimmer's events and the total cost closer to date. This is a new feature, so patience is appreciated. If you have any issues online, please don't hesitate to reach out or RSVP via e-mail. If you do not RSVP, I will assume you are unable to attend.

The rate of a swim meet varies depending on the host, the amount of events being swum, etc. but on average it's about $25-50. Typically, $3 per individual event and $5+ per relay plus a facility fee. Payment can be made at the OBAC front desk before the RSVP due date.
