2/24 OBST Weekly Newsletter

Hello OBST parents,

1) If you would like to help assemble our float for the Mardi Gras Parade, we will have a little decorating gathering on Monday, March 3rd at 3 p.m. I have the majority of materials necessary, but if you have anything in which you'd like to provide or bring just in case, that is completely fine! I realize Mardi Gras break is March 3rd-5th, therefore no swim practice, however, please make an effort to support the team for the parade and its preparations.

All participants riding and/or walking will need to wear an OBST shirt and all kids will be provided a shark fin to wear. It looks as though we will have about 24 participating in the festivities. Any additional spirit gear is encouraged!

2) This weekend is our Region 4 Championship in Pensacola at the UWF natatorium! I am looking forward to this meet and really hope to pepper the place with our mako pride. Ava, Natalie, and Afton will be swimming the 500 FR for the first time on Friday night -- wish them an extra dose of good vibes!

***Please plan to be on deck for the A warm-up unless otherwise informed by myself later this week. ***

3) RSVP REQUESTED: St. Paddy's Splash is what Gulf Shores is calling the meet held at the Bodenhamer on Friday, 3/21. Please mark your child's attendance by March 14th and have the $15 entry fee paid no later than March 17th.

5) Please review the "Uniform & Equipment" page under the "Programs" tab in SwimTopia and make sure your athlete has the necessary equipment per group. Our club portal with Swim & Tri is set up and you may access it here: https://www.SwimAndTri.com/TeamView_OrangeBeachSwimTeamAL.aspx

If you are looking for team shirts, both the classic OBST shortsleeve and the Got Grit? longsleeve are for sale at the front desk of OBAC.

Best,
