6/2 OBST Weekly Newsletter

Happy Monday OBST,

A huge thank you to all who attended the parent meeting last Tuesday! We covered a lot of information and I hope it was of help to ease you into our summer season and schedule.

If you missed the meeting, I have your swimmer's t-shirt and cap bundle for them when they attend practice next. As you are aware, we have some positive growing pains, but after making a couple of adjustments on Tuesday, I believe we are able to operate smoothly. We should also have an assistant coach joining our team within the upcoming weeks.

All parents, whether you attended the meeting or not, everyone has full access to our official handbook online. If you visit obstmakos.swimtopia.com and go to the "About" tab, you will find the PDF version of the handbook should you want to refer to it or print it. There is a forms section (form attached also) in-which I would appreciate parents completing digitally and sending back to me. It is simply acknowledgement that you have seen the material.

I would love for all swimmers to have their necessary equipment by June 9th, if at all possible. This includes either a team suit or plain royal blue suit to be worn at all swim meets.

Our first swim meet of the season is this weekend for our USA Swimming athletes! We are taking 11 swimmers to compete at the UWF Natatorium for the Tom Lalor Invitational. If attending the meet, please note the following:

The 13 & older morning sessions of this meet will be conducted using “chase starts” unless the number of athletes in the sessions should otherwise dictate. ODD HEATS will start from the diving board end of the pool and EVEN HEATS will start from the scoreboard end of the pool. All 50s will start from the diving board end of the pool.

STARTING TIMES: Warm-up Competition

Friday AM: 7:00 AM 8:30 AM

Friday PM: A single thirty (30) minute warm-up session will commence immediately after completion of the morning competition session.

Saturday AM: 7:00 AM 8:30 AM

Saturday PM: A single thirty (30) minute warm-up session will commence immediately after completion of the morning competition session.

Sunday AM: 7:00 AM 8:30 AM

That's all for now! I appreciate you.
