Spooktacular Info

Hi parents,

Please see the attached individual entries and heat sheet for the meet this Saturday. There are 37 events and I went ahead and combined events #30 and #35 so that no one athlete was swimming in a heat alone. Those two combined events are listed as "Mixed 13 & Over".

I'd like to open the pool for warm-up at 8 a.m. Collectively there will be 44 athletes across both teams, so this meet should move fairly quickly. I will have OBST warm-up first from 8-8:20 a.m. (Please do not be late for warm-up!) If you have an athlete swimming the 500 FR, please have them report to the timing table after warm-up to positive check in for the event. All 500 FR swimmers will need to provide their own personnel for counting.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! I especially need at least 8 timers. I asked Foley to provide 4 timers and to take lanes 1 and 6, as those lanes will not be as active as 2-5. Please visit the job sign-up tab under OBST Spooktacular in the calendar on SwimTopia to claim a volunteer position. There will be a timer/volunteer meeting at 8:45 a.m. The meet will start at 9 a.m.

We will run a clerk of course, although I am not going to push its usage, since this is primarily an age group meet. Swimmers need to be able to follow along and read the scoreboard/heat sheet on their own eventually!

All heat winners will be awarded a "healthy" piece of candy since this is our Halloween-themed meet. The candies contain no artificial dyes or allergens, so all are able to enjoy! :) If fellow coaches, parents, or other attendees wish to dress-up and partake in the spooky spirit, go for it!

Please follow all facility signage and note that we cannot park to the right of the facility as that is under construction. The facility entrance will be from the left side gate by the retention pond.

LASTLY, please check your slack notifications! I have 13 families who have not turned in their $5/athlete for this meet. If you are able to have it paid by EOD, that is greatly appreciated.

I'm looking forward to a spooktacular day of racing!

Best,

Coach Dakota
